You can store almost anything. However, UK Self Storage facilities operate under British law and as such it is illegal to store objects such as firearms, illegal substances (drugs, explosives), dangerous weapons or anything else that is illegal or that could be harmful to public health. We prohibit the storage of highly flammable items such as paints and fuels, and anything containing a lithium-ion battery with a rating of 160Wh or higher, including e-bikes, e-scooters and all other electric vehicles. We also prohibit the storage of plants and foodstuffs which may attract insects or vermin. If in any doubt, please contact us before bringing your goods to any of our premises.
Our storage units vary in size from 16 square feet (the size of a walk-in cupboard) to 200 square feet (equivalent to the size of a double garage). We will be happy to advise on the amount of space you may require. Obviously, you can rent two or more storage units if you have a large amount to store. We offer the flexibility to move your belongings to larger or smaller units when required.
Yes. Subject to availability, you can move your belongings straight into a storage unit. You just need to bring two forms of identification (one with your photo, such as a passport or driving licence, and one with your address, such as a recent utility bill), your debit card, and a padlock, if you have one. There will be some paperwork for you to complete. Please call us before travelling to make sure we have a suitable storage unit available for you.
You will need a padlock to secure your unit. Your padlock is the first line of security for your goods in store, and ensures that only you have access to your storage unit. Padlocks are available to buy in the branch, but you are welcome to bring your own padlock with you when you move your goods into store.
Our staff will be happy to recommend local companies who can help you move your belongings. Please contact us for details.
We offer a selection of packing materials including boxes, tape, bubble wrap and furniture covers. Padlocks are also available for purchase.
This obviously depends on the size of your unit, the length of your stay, and any special offers that might be applicable. Please use the links on this website to obtain a quote, or call the branch for help and advice.

You do not have to reserve a storage unit, although availability cannot be guaranteed if a unit is not reserved. We will be happy to reserve a unit for you for up to 2 weeks upon payment of a refundable deposit. You will need to pay a refundable deposit even if you do not reserve your unit in advance.

All you need to do is tell us the value of the items you wish to store and we will do the rest.
We ask for your deposit and initial storage invoice to be made on a debit card. Ongoing storage charges can be made by Direct Debit or bank-to-bank transfer.

Your initial storage invoice is payable on the day of arrival and must cover any special offer period. Subsequent invoices are monthly. Payment is due in advance, before the 1st of each month.
